Cassia Cinnamon

Cassia cinnamon powder is the most common form of cinnamon and is the variety you most often see at grocery stores. This spice originated in China and is made from the bark of the cinnamomum cassia tree, a widely cultivated evergreen which is now grown across the globe. Cassia cinnamon is often described as having a slightly spicy flavor in comparison to Ceylon or Saigon (Vietnamese) cinnamon.
